Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026 · Version 1.2
This policy explains what cookies Tourify Travel Pty Ltd uses on thetourify.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. Essential cookies are always active. Analytics and advertising cookies are loaded only with your consent, given via the banner that appears on your first visit.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site recognise your browser across pages and visits. We also use localStorage to remember your cookie consent preference between sessions.
2. Cookies we use
2.1 Essential cookies — always active
Strictly necessary for the platform to work. These cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality.
- Authentication (Supabase)
- Keeps you signed in across pages. Expires after 30 days of inactivity.
- Payment checkout (Stripe)
- Maintains state during the payment flow. Deleted when you close the browser tab.
- Cookie consent (localStorage)
- Stores your preference so the banner doesn't reappear. Kept for 1 year.
- Maps & live chat (Mapbox, Crisp)
- Mapbox sets no persistent cookies but your IP is visible when maps load. Crisp stores your chat session so you don't have to repeat yourself if you return.
2.2 Analytics & advertising cookies — consent required
Activated only after you choose "Accept all" via the cookie banner. Choosing "Essential only" prevents these from loading entirely.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Collects anonymised usage data — pages visited, booking funnel steps, session duration, device type, and general location. Retained by Google for at most 14 months.
- Google Ads
- Tracks completed bookings (conversions) and enables remarketing — showing Tourify ads on other sites after you visit ours. Data retained for 90 days.
3. Third-party services
These services may collect data under their own privacy policies.

4. Managing your cookies
4.1 Cookie banner
On your first visit, a banner appears in the corner of the screen. You can choose:
- Accept all — enables analytics and advertising cookies (GA4, Google Ads).
- Essential only — no analytics or advertising cookies are loaded.
To change your choice, clear your browser's local storage or site data for thetourify.com — the banner will reappear. You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in and booking.
4.2 Google opt-out tools
- Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on — prevents GA4 from collecting data in your browser.
- Google Ads Settings — controls ad personalisation and remarketing.
5. Cookie durations
- Session cookies
- Deleted when you close the browser tab (Stripe checkout).
- Authentication
- 30 days from last activity.
- Consent preference
- 1 year.
- Google Analytics 4
- Up to 14 months.
- Google Ads
- 90 days.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features or change third-party services. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email or in-platform notice.
