Brief Garden (Bevis Bawa)

Bevis Bawa, soldier, aide-de-camp, and older brother of the architect Geoffrey, spent fifty years turning a rubber estate into a five-acre garden of terraces, water courts and hidden sculpture. Donald Friend's murals still cover the house walls. Almost nobody goes, which is much of the pleasure.
