Gal Oya National Park Boat Safari

The only national park in Sri Lanka where the safari is done by boat, on the vast Senanayake Samudraya reservoir. The elephants here swim between the islands, trunks up like periscopes, and a boat can sit quietly a hundred metres off and watch a herd cross open water, something you cannot see anywhere else in Asia. Add fish eagles, painted storks, and hills with no road access at all.
