Nalanda Gedige is an ancient stone temple near Matale, Sri Lanka, believed to date back to the 8th–10th centuries. Uniquely blending Hindu and Buddhist architectural styles, it features intricate carvings and tantric elements. Once submerged by a reservoir, the temple was relocated and rebuilt stone by stone. Today, it stands at Sri Lanka’s geographical center and is admired for its historical, cultural, and architectural significance.
