Ridi Viharaya (Silver Temple)

Built where a silver ore deposit was found that funded the great dagoba at Anuradhapura. Inside are Kandyan murals, a reclining Buddha on a platform of Delft blue-and-white tiles donated by a Dutch envoy, and a carved moonstone of unusual quality. Idiosyncratic and almost unvisited.
