Day 1 begins with your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, followed by a transfer to Colombo, the bustling commercial capital, where you spend the afternoon on a guided city tour exploring colonial-era architecture, the seaside promenade at Galle Face Green, and the eclectic Gangaramaya Temple, known for its unique blend of Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian, and Chinese styles; Day 2 takes you north into the Cultural Triangle toward Dambulla, where you begin with an authentic village tour featuring traditional rural life, a bullock-cart ride, and a home-cooked Sri Lankan meal, before climbing the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th-century palace-citadel rising dramatically above the plains with its famous frescoes and water gardens; Day 3 continues south through scenic hill country to Kandy, the cultural heart of the island, where you wander through the lush Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya and visit the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, ending the day with a vibrant Kandyan dance and drumming performance; Day 4 features the famously scenic train journey through tea plantations to Ella, where adventurous travelers can hike the rugged Devil's Staircase for sweeping highland views before visiting the iconic Nine Arch Bridge to watch a train cross the colonial-era viaduct framed by lush jungle; Day 5 descends toward the southern coast to Tangalle, with a stop at the dramatic Hummanaya Blowhole, the second largest of its kind in the world, followed by an evening turtle-watching experience at Rekawa Beach where endangered sea turtles come ashore to nest; Day 6 continues west along the coast to Mirissa, starting at the scenic Coconut Tree Hill with its swaying palms and ocean views, then stopping at Weligama Bay to watch surfers and traditional stilt fishermen, before concluding your journey with a transfer back to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
