Tea Trails and Coastal Bliss

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and drive directly into the Cultural Triangle. Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress to admire its ancient frescoes, water gardens, and panoramic summit views. In the afternoon, ease into Sri Lankan rural life with a guided Dambulla village tour, complete with a traditional home-cooked dinner.

Travel south through tea country to Kandy. Stretch your legs on Pekoe Trail Stage 1, a scenic walking route that winds through tea plantations and forest paths with sweeping highland views. In the evening, visit the revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the spiritual heart of the country.

Continue up into the highlands to Ella, one of Sri Lanka's most picturesque hill towns. Get the adrenaline going at Flying Ravana adventure park before heading to the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, a stone railway viaduct nestled in a jungle valley, perfect for photographing a passing train.

Descend out of the hills toward the southern dry zone. Embark on an exhilarating jeep safari in Yala National Park, famous for the world's highest density of leopards, plus elephants, crocodiles, and exotic birds. Round off the day with a sunset visit to the seaside Kirinda Temple, perched on a rocky outcrop above the Indian Ocean.

Travel west along the southern coastline to Mirissa, where palm-fringed beaches stretch in every direction. Take in postcard ocean views from Coconut Tree Hill, then head to Weligama Bay, a shallow surf-friendly beach where you can take a beginner surf lesson or simply watch the iconic stilt fishermen at work.
