About This Tour

Day 1 begins with your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, followed by a scenic drive up the western coast to Kalpitiya, a peaceful peninsula known for kitesurfing, dolphin watching, and sweeping coastal scenery, where you unwind with a relaxed afternoon by Kalpitiya Lagoon, enjoying its calm waters and ocean breeze; Day 2 takes you east into the dry zone to Polonnaruwa, where you explore the UNESCO-listed Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, wandering among its well-preserved ruins of palaces, temples, and stone Buddha statues, before heading out on a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park to witness the spectacular “Gathering” of wild elephants; Day 3 continues to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, where you climb the iconic rock past frescoes, water gardens, and the lion’s paws to reach the summit, followed by a slower-paced afternoon in Dambulla with an authentic village tour featuring a bullock-cart ride and a traditional home-cooked meal; Day 4 leads south through scenic hill country to Kandy, stopping en route at Embekke Devalaya, renowned for its intricate wooden carvings, and enjoying a fragrant spice walk before visiting the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in the evening; Day 5 brings the famous train journey into the highlands to Ella, where you hike a scenic section of the Pekoe Trail through lush tea plantations and then visit a working tea factory to learn about the production of world-renowned Ceylon tea; Day 6 remains in Ella with an early hike up Little Adam's Peak for panoramic sunrise views, followed by an adrenaline-filled zipline experience at Flying Ravana Adventure Park and a relaxed evening in town; Day 7 descends to the southern coast to Galle, where you visit a sea turtle hatchery to learn about conservation efforts, explore the cobbled streets of the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, and enjoy a final swim at Unawatuna before concluding your journey with the scenic drive back to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
