About This Tour

Day 1 begins with your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, followed by a direct drive into the Cultural Triangle to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, where you climb the iconic rock to admire its frescoes, water gardens, and sweeping summit views, before continuing to Dambulla for a relaxed village tour and a traditional home-cooked dinner; Day 2 takes you east to Polonnaruwa to explore the UNESCO-listed Ancient City of Polonnaruwa by bicycle, discovering its palaces, stupas, and stone Buddha statues, before heading out on a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park to witness the remarkable “Gathering” of wild elephants; Day 3 continues south through scenic hill country to Kandy, stopping en route at Embekke Devalaya, famed for its intricate wooden carvings, and enjoying a fragrant spice walk before visiting the revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in the evening along with a traditional Kandyan dance performance; Day 4 brings the scenic train journey into the highlands to Ella, where you spend the day hiking a beautiful section of the Pekoe Trail through tea plantations and forested paths with sweeping mountain views; Day 5 remains in Ella with an early hike up Little Adam's Peak for breathtaking sunrise views, followed by an adrenaline-filled zipline experience at Flying Ravana Adventure Park and a relaxed evening in town; Day 6 descends toward the southern plains with a visit to Kirinda Temple overlooking the Indian Ocean, followed by an exciting safari in Yala National Park in search of leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and crocodiles; Day 7 continues west along the coast to Mirissa, where you visit a sea turtle hatchery to learn about conservation efforts and take in sweeping ocean views from Coconut Tree Hill before relaxing on golden beaches or enjoying fresh seafood by the sea; Day 8 concludes in Galle, where you spend a leisurely morning at Unawatuna swimming or snorkelling, then explore the cobbled streets and ramparts of the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort before transferring along the coast back to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight.
