Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and drive directly into the Cultural Triangle. Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, taking in its frescoes, water gardens, and panoramic summit views. In the afternoon, ease into Sri Lankan rural life with a Dambulla village tour and a traditional home-cooked dinner.

Travel south through tea country to Kandy. Stop at the elegant wooden Embekke Devalaya, famed for its intricate carvings, and enjoy a fragrant spice walk to learn about Sri Lanka's spice heritage. Settle into Kandy with an evening stroll around the lake and a Kandyan cultural dance performance.

Climb into the misty highlands to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka's "Little England." Begin with an early hike across Horton Plains National Park to the dramatic cliff edge of World's End. In the afternoon, take a leisurely city tour through the colonial-era town, with its Tudor-style buildings and lush gardens.

Take the famously scenic train ride to Ella, one of Sri Lanka's most picturesque hill towns. Hike to the top of Little Adam's Peak for sweeping highland views, then get your adrenaline going with a zipline at Flying Ravana adventure park before settling in for the night.

Spend a second day in Ella exploring its lush tea country. Hike the scenic Pekoe Trail Stage 16, a rewarding walk through plantations and forest paths, before a guided tour of a working tea factory to see how Ceylon tea is plucked, withered, and processed into the world-famous brew.

Descend from the highlands toward the southern dry zone. Visit the seaside Kirinda Temple, perched on a granite outcrop above the Indian Ocean, before an exhilarating jeep safari in Yala National Park, famous for its leopards, elephants, and exotic birdlife.

Continue west along the southern coast to Mirissa. Stop at Weligama Bay to watch surfers and stilt fishermen, then head to the photogenic Coconut Tree Hill for stunning ocean views. Round off the day with a relaxed swim and a fresh seafood dinner on the beach.
