Anawilundawa Wetland Sanctuary

A Ramsar site where a thousand-year-old cascading tank system sits between mangrove and sea, producing an unusual overlap of freshwater and coastal birds — over 150 species including black-necked stork and both pelican and jacana on the same water. Almost no visitors, and an easy stop on the Negombo-Kalpitiya drive.
