Bambarakanda Falls

Sri Lanka's highest waterfall at 263 metres — a single thread dropping down a granite face into pine forest. In the driest months it thins to a ribbon; after rain it is genuinely startling. The short walk to the base takes twenty minutes and the pool at the bottom is cold enough to hurt.
