Bundala National Park

Sri Lanka's first Ramsar wetland and the island's most important wintering ground for migratory shorebirds — greater flamingo in flocks of several hundred, crab plover, and almost every wader on the regional list. Elephant, crocodile and all five resident turtle species are here too, but Bundala is fundamentally a birding park, and it is calm and empty in a way Yala never is.
