Galle Lighthouse & Ramparts Walk

The full circuit of the Dutch ramparts takes about an hour and is best walked in the last light, when the fort empties of day-trippers, local boys throw themselves off the wall at Flag Rock, and the 1939 lighthouse turns gold. This, rather than the shops, is what makes Galle worth an overnight rather than a stop.
