Kanneliya Rainforest Reserve

A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the second-largest surviving lowland rainforest after Sinharaja, with a fraction of the visitors. Trails lead to Anagimala Falls and the Narangas Ella pools through forest holding purple-faced langur, endemic green pit vipers and most of the same bird list as Sinharaja. The obvious answer when Sinharaja is fully booked or too far.
