Ravana Cave

A cave 1,370 m up the hillside above Ella, reached by a steep flight of some 650 steps. Human remains dated to around 25,000 years ago were excavated here, making it one of the oldest inhabited sites on the island — and tradition holds it as Ravana's hiding place for Sita. Small, hot and worth the climb for the view back over the gap.
