The last significant primary lowland rainforest in Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Twenty-one of the island's 27 endemic birds live here, and the great prize is a mixed-species feeding flock — dozens of birds of a dozen species moving through the canopy together, a phenomenon studied here for over thirty years. The southern Deniyaya approach is wilder, wetter and much less trafficked than Kudawa.
