The best time to witness "The Gathering" is during the dry season, from May to October. The peak months for this spectacle are generally August and September. Safaris are typically conducted in the afternoon, from around 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, as the elephants come out to drink, bathe, and feed on the fresh grass near the reservoir.
